Our newest ebook is ready

So living in a tourist town, Ketchikan Alaska, we receive many cruise ships almost every day from May until September. As a local photographer we have amassed many hundreds of pictures of cruise ships coming and leaving the area. So we created a ebook on some of them. This book displays pictures of over 25 ships, and provides some info on each ship. It’s on Amazon at:

Also we wrote a brief article awhile back on some of the ships, published in May 2018.

Like to travel?

Have you ever stopped at a gas station and ask “if they knew a good place near by to eat?”. Have you ever been to a city and had time but nothing to do? We just spent a week in Anchorage Alaska, we had a few appointments that we needed to take care of. While there we stayed in a hotel, ate our meals out everyday. This is my plug for “trip advisor”. We have contributed info on places we stayed, visited, liked and didn’t like. You know what, many people have read our reviews and some said they helped. So I just finished some of the reviews this last week. To see what we thought of Anchorage or where we went, please conduct a search on “trip advisor” for scspeights. You’ll see some recents and some older reviews. Reviews from Washington DC, Washington, Colorado And California. My point is, people enjoy going places other have enjoyed. People like to eat at places that provide good service and food. So if you have never been a critic, take a trip then leave a review. Or you can start out by critiquing places in your hometown or neighborhood.

Two minute tour of Ketchikan Alaska

Someone recently asked me to make a short video about Ketchikan Alaska about a minute or two. This is what I came up with. Hope you like it and feel like visiting SE Alaska sometime.

The wildlife experience near Denver

A fun place near Denver is the “Wildlife Experience”. It has a lot of beautiful statues both indoors and out.

There is lots of taxidermy animals as well as interactive things for kids.

We spent several hours here just walking around looking at things.

It’s a great place for photography as well.

The location is: 10035 S Peoria St, Parker CO. To contact them the phone number is (303) 315-9444. The cost I believe was $12 for adults and $8 for kids 3-12. So if your in the area, check it out.

Uncle Bucks Fish bowl

So recently visited “Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl” in Colorado Springs CO. It was a fun place and a nice atmosphere. Guess it’s owned by BassPro sporting goods store. Also heard that they have them in various places across the states.

Very fun and friendly for families with kids, or just a nice place to hang out at. Also check out Groupon to possibly find deals or specials.

Mega yachts

Living in a tourist destination, we encounter yachts all the time, some time they are the mega yachts that the true top of the top travel in. Usually we only receive one of these visitors every few years, but when their here they are the talk of the town. Many people try to get the first pictures then share them in a FB page or group. Others post the where about sand track the yachts destination to destination. Still others try to find out the owner by searching for “M/V” then the yachts name. There are several sites out there for these traveling palaces, many show pictures of the inside of the ship. Pictured above is the mega yacht “A”.

M/V Serene

M/V Ice Bear

Some mega yachts can be sail boats also, like the one above.

M/V Luna

Butterfly pavilion near Denver.

The pavilion is actually located in Westminister CO. We have gone there a few times. Lost of butterfly’s floating and flying around. It is very very warm inside, so best not to go in the middle of summer.

I don’t remember how many different types of butterflies and moths they have, but it was worth the time and trip. If your trying to take pictures, my suggestion would use a burst mode if your camera allows it and also a fast speed. Some butterflies can be seen relaxing on various plants, others seem none stop and always on the move. Kids of all ages really seemed to have fun there. If your in CO and have a little spare time I would recommend this for the family.

I believe they are open every day. To contact them visit there web site at:
